OVERVIEW

Madhya Pradesh, as its name implies lies in the heart of India. The state consists largely of a plateau streaked with hill ranges of the Vindhya and the Satpura. Nearly a third of the state area is covered with tropical forest that offers a unique and exciting panorama of wildlife. The state’s cultural heritage is ancient. Innumerable monuments – exquisitely carved temples, stupas, rock-cut caves, forts, and palaces on hilltops- raise in the visitor's minds visions of empire and kingdoms of the great warriors and builders, poets, musicians, saints, and philosophers of Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Islam. Handicrafts, customs, and beliefs in each area have added color to the fairs and festivals.

During 5 nights / 6 days Madhya Pradesh Heritage Tour, you will cover major tourist places i.e. Bhopal, Sanchi, Ujjain, Bhimbetka, Mandu, Omkareshwar, and Indore.

Itinerary details

Day 01: Arrive in Bhopal 

On your arrival at the Airport/ Railway Station, meet our tour representative. Get assistance for transfer to hotel in Bhopal. On arrival check-in, the hotel relaxes for some time and gets ready for a sightseeing tour of Bhopal which includes Bharat Bhavan Museum, Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalay, and Shaukat Mahal, Taj-Ul-Masjid, Lakshmi Narayan Temple and in the evening relax on lakes (Upper and Lower) of Bhopal. Later, return back to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 02: Bhopal – Sanchi – Bhimbetka - Bhopal

Enjoy a splendid breakfast and head toward a full-day tour of two World Heritage Sites Great Sanchi Stupas and Bhimbetka (Cave Paintings). Start the trip to the massive Stupas and museum of Sanchi, the most elaborated and famous pilgrimage destination for Buddhists. The Great Stupa is the oldest stone structure in India and was originally commissioned by the emperor Ashoka. Thereafter, head straight to Bhimbetka about 45 km southeast of Bhopal, and explore beautiful Rock Caves, famous for their paintings and sketches dating back to pre-historic times. Later, return back to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 03: Bhopal – Indore (en route to Ujjain)

After a lovely breakfast check-out from the hotel and you will be moving to Indore. En route, halt in Ujjain and explore its places of tourist attractions which include Bhairava, Kaliadeh Palace (bank of Shipra river), Navagarha Temple, Bade Ganeshji Ka Mandir, Kal Gopal Mandir, Harsiddhi Temple, and Mahakaleshwar Temple (Jyotirlinga). After the temple tour drive to Indore registers yourself at the hotel reception, and check into the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 04: Indore - Mandu (100 Kms/3 Hrs)

Munch on a hearty breakfast check out from the hotel and depart by surface for Mandu, an ancient fort city. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel. Later, proceed on a sightseeing tour of Mandu ‘the ghost town of India’ which include Hoshang's Tomb, Ashrafi Mahal, Jahaz Mahal (Ship Palace), Hindola Mahal (Swing Palace), and The Rupmati’s Pavilion. Later, return back to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 05: Mandu - Omkareshwar – Indore

Wake up to explore the most ancient and prominent Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, and have an early breakfast, after which proceed for a day trip to Omkareshwar. Pay a visit to the famous Omkar Mandhata Temple, a famous temple town located on the banks of river Narmada. If time permits enjoy a boat ride on the Narmada River after divine darshan you will be transferred to the Indore railway station/airport to board connecting flight to New Delhi.
